Personal Vows or First Look?

OK, we’re going to let you in on a not-so-secret secret…we LOVE it when couples write their own vows and/or do a first look!! Why? Because it makes your day that much more special. Personal vows or first looks typically makes for an emotional photo and video opportunity.
Personal vows are wedding vows that are custom written, but instead of just saying them in front of your guests during the ceremony, you recite the vows in a more private setting too.
The first look is when a couple sees each other for the first time on their wedding day. We arrange a time with the couple before the ceremony in the wedding day timeline and pick a location away from the eyes of family and friends to hold the first-look. The private moment between the couple starts with the groom getting into place while the bride is tucked away, somewhere close by, so she can’t be seen. The groom stands looking away – at the photographer and/or videographer – while the bride starts walking up towards him and taps him on the shoulder to which he will turn around and see his beautiful bride for the first time. Though walking down the aisle is still emotional and results in great photos and videos, you’re separated by rows of chairs when the groom sees the bride for the first time.

Love In Film

Our wedding films are known for their cinematic style and short-form story-telling. Your film will allow you to relive your wedding experience or special celebration the way you truly deserve. A cinematic short film captures your story, emotions, and the unique details of your unforgettable day. We hand-pick special moments from your full wedding day, key speeches or toasts, beautiful shots of your venue and put together a cinematic film. Our creative and cinematic approach to filming along with our storytelling in editing allows us to create a beautiful memory that will last forever.

Timeless Memories

EVERYTHING AND MORE...This includes it all!! If you want to make sure your day is captured in every possible way, or those who want to see it all, this is the package for you! This is perfect for times the guys are getting ready far away from the girls, or you want multiple angles of the bride walking down the aisle. Our photographers and videographers will capture a sweet glance during vows; your mother beaming with joy during getting ready prep; the best man reminiscing on childhood memories during toasts; candid moments of guests, posed portraits and all those crazy moments in between. Think about this. It’s your 15 year wedding anniversary. You turn on your smart tv and bring up your wedding cinematic film, you then pick up your fine-art wedding album off the coffee table. The emotion of the day comes rushing back to you in a wave as you hear the toasts and the vows, you look at all the beautiful portraits you took on that day. In that moment, it feels as if you’re standing in your wedding venue with your new husband in your gorgeous wedding gown like you did 15 years ago. Your photos and film will be beautiful. We’re positive about that. This is not a one size fits all wedding collection, because no two couples are the same. We create images and films that don't get caught up in the latest social media trends but that are unique to your wedding.

Cinematic or Documentary Film?

Documentary Video coverage will capture the important parts of your day with minimal editing creating a longer format video. No additional music will be added to documentary videos. Cinematic Film brings your wedding to life with style. Shot with higher end DSLR cameras we are able to create a movie or music video like experience. Combining music, great audio, unique camera angles and movement allow us to produce a wedding film you will want to watch over and over.
Our documentary edits (full film) can get up to 2 hours long. They include the full ceremony and speeches. You will get every tear filled word, as well as every laughter. This edit is a simple edit with minimal retouching or editing. Our cinematic films are around 6 mins long and we comb through the 8+ hours of footage to find the most powerful, hilarious, and emotion filled moments. We often add your vows as well as parts of speeches throughout the film so you can sit down and feel like you are reliving your entire wedding day in under 10 min. But trust us, you will still be crying before it gets to the end!

TIPS AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Candid/Photojournalistic

Photojournalism shows you the joy, emotion, and spontaneity of the day. This avoids posed or prompted shots and captures the spontaneity of your wedding day.

Formal Posed Photography

Individuals or groups of people are set up by the photographer in formal poses. The complete opposite to candid photography. This is typically the most traditional style of wedding photography and is very popular with older family members. The photos are quite formal but are very consistent. This would include posed portraits of the bride and groom, family, wedding attendants and prompted photos of the traditional "happenings" at your wedding.

Natural Portraiture

These are semi-posed, natural looking, casual portraits. Individuals or groups of people are brought together without the look of a formal set-up. This style gives a more relaxed, contemporary and fun look.

  1. We highly recommend setting aside plenty of time for bridal, groom and family photography prior to the ceremony. This starts the story and starts the photography when everyone is looking their very best and full of emotion before the day’s events begin
  2. In order to allow for a private photo session of bride and groom, we will need at least 1 hour of your time alone with the photographer. This can be done before or after the ceremony. We recommend 1 hour as discussed in our initial consultation. Less than 30 minutes may potentially result in photos which are not of the same standard as seen on our portfolio and allowing for less than 30 minutes indicates that you understand this risk.
  3. Please make us aware of any unique family dynamics - Parents are divorced and don't speak to one another. Grandmother does not want to be in photographs with daughter's husband as they don't get along.
  4. Group Photographs - We suggests limiting the amount of posed group photos taken to 10 unless more are agreed in advance. A member of the wedding party or family member should be assigned to assist with the gathering of guests for the group photographs. Please note that the photographers will not consent to a timetable which does not allow enough time for all small photographs to be taken. Totals include the bride and groom.
  5. Cake cutting, first dance and/or garter toss can also be done after dinner, but we recommend doing them right after introductions so that guests are paying attention.
  6. As a courtesy, we provide a small number of photographs to the vendors that have worked on your wedding (eg - photos of the bouquet to your florist). Please note that all requests for vendor images must go directly through the photographer as your license does not allow you to distribute the images for commerical purposes.
